Welcome
About Us
Droitwich Lifesaving Club is a growing and successful voluntary club originally founded by Terry Dennis and Laurie Smith in October 1989 and we are proud to say it has been running ever since.
We meet at Droitwich Spa Leisure centre, between 6pm and 8pm on Sunday evening during term time and made up of members aged 10 upwards. Club consists of club members, teachers and committee all, so even if you’re not up for swimming yourself, we still welcome you to club.
The club sessions are split into two groups depending on age, a ‘Rookie’ group of those aged 10 to 12 and a ‘Senior’ group for over-12s.
We are familiar with the Duke of Edinburgh award and have supported many members to achieve their goals over the years. Got a particular section you require help with? No worries we can offer support to any of the sections you require to complete, just let us know and we’ll get you on the right path straight away!

Drowning Prevention Week, the national campaign run by the Royal Life Saving Society UK, aims to reduce the number of drowning and near-drowning incidents that occur in the UK every year, by showing people how to be safe near water.
Around 400 people needlessly drown in the UK every year and thousands more suffer injury, some life changing, through near-drowning experiences. Putting this into context, one person dies every 20 hours in the UK and drowning is the third highest cause of accidental death of children in the UK.
Drowning Prevention Week, encourages schools, clubs, leisure centres and communities to come up with new and exciting ways to show people how they can have fun and stay safe around water. The campaign also aims to raise money for the charity’s drowning prevention programmes.
